Pediatric Patients
Parents, we know that dental visits can feel overwhelming for children.
Our anesthesiologist specializes in creating a safe, gentle, and comfortable
experience for kids, including those with special needs or sensory sensitivities.
If your child is afraid of needles, anxious, or has trouble sitting still, we can help!
In most cases, your child can drift off to sleep safely by simply breathing into a soft face mask.
No needles required to get started. Throughout the entire procedure, a board-certified anesthesiologist
will be by your child's side, carefully monitoring every breath and heartbeat to ensure the highest level of safety and comfort.

Adult Patients
Many patients suffer from dental anxiety.
We understand it can be difficult to tolerate extensive
and complex dental procedures. Not a fan of needles? Do not
desire to be aware of the procedure? Let us help you every step of the way.
Our anesthesiologist will evaluate and tailor a customized anesthesia plan specifically
based on your medical history and dental treatment plan. We offer various level of sedation,
from IV sedation, also known as twilight sedation, to general anesthesia, where you will be completely asleep.
With a full range of anesthesia options available, we can help you receive the dental care you need, while ensuring you are safe, relaxed, and pain free.

Types of Anesthesia We Offer
At Northpoint Anesthesia Partners (NAP), We can provide a range of anesthesia options from IV sedation to general anesthesia. We will work with you and your dental provider to develop the most ideal anesthesia plan tailored based on your medical history, anxiety level, and complexity of the procedure.
IV Sedation
This form of sedation will help you feel calm and relaxed during the dental appointment. It will help you feel drowsy and less aware of surroundings, reduce discomfort and anxiety. An intravenous (IV) line will be placed prior to the start of the sedation. The sedative medications can be given through the IV. The doses of the sedatives will be carefully adjusted to achieve the desired effect. You will begin to feel the sedation within minutes. Afterward, most patients will have foggy to minimal memory of the visit. This technique can be ideal for most adult patients with more medically complex conditions.
Deep Sedation/General Anesthesia
With deep sedation, you will be in a deep sleep and unaware of your surroundings. With general anesthesia, you will be completely unconscious during the procedure. General anesthesia can be initiated through intravenous (IV) access or an inhaled gas anesthetic. Under general anesthesia, you will not experience any pain and your muscles will feel completely relaxed. Your vital signs and breathing function will be closely monitored throughout the procedure. Inhalational induction, also known as mask induction, can be an ideal technique for the certain patients to fall asleep, such as children, patients with special needs, and patient with severe needle phobia. They can fall asleep by breathing into a soft mask. After they are asleep, an IV will be placed to administer IV fluids and anesthetics. A soft breathing tube is often used to protect the airway and help the patient breathe.
